BILLING INFORMATION / FEES
Membership Fee: A $5.00 Membership fee is refundable upon termination of service.

Connection Fee: A non refundable service connect fee of $40 is required for reconnection or changeover of an existing account. The new service connect fee is $65 and a temporary service is $125.

Security Deposit: New residential members with satisfactory credit as reported by a third party credit bureau will be exempt from deposit requirements. For others, a deposit equal to two-times the highest bill or $300.00 (whichever is greater) may be required. Other factors may be used in determining deposit requirements. Commercial deposits are based on estimated usage (two months billing).

Additional Deposit: An additional deposit may be required of any member who pays so late as to cause a collection order to be issued or shall tender a worthless check.

Returned Check: Returned check fees are pursuant to Florida Statutes.

Delinquent Bills and Fees: Bills for electric service become past due approximately twenty days after the billing date. Both the billing date and the past due date are printed on your bill. A 1.5%, but not less than, $5.00 late charge will apply to all unpaid balances as of 5:00 p.m. on the past due date.

Notification is given on monthly bills of past due bill amounts owed. If payment is not received by 5 p.m. on the date indicated in the "Collection Notice", a $25.00 collection trip and/or termination of service the following workday may result. If disconnected, there will be a $40.00 reconnect fee (during normal business hours) or a $75,00 reconnect fee (after hours, weekends or holidays) and additional deposit before restoring service.

Meter Reading: Electric meters are read each month. Some areas within the Cooperative have meters equipped with Electronic Radio Transmitting equipment that will transmit meter data via a controlled radio frequency, eliminating the need for monthly visits. Providing access to the electric meters is the responsibility of each member.

Meter Tampering: Meter tampering, or any other method of power diversion for the purpose of circumventing billing is illegal and may result in prosecution.

Refund of Deposit: Security deposits will be refunded without interest to all residential members when service has been connected 24 months, providing that the last 12 months payments were made prior to the past due date.

Monthly Statements: Electric bills are mailed monthly on all accounts where a balance exceeds $35.00. Residential accounts with balances under $35.00 will be sent bills every other month or once their balance becomes $35.00 or more.
